I am a registered member of the BACP, which is the largest professional body for counsellors in the UK. It is important to know that anyone in the UK can set up as a counsellor without having any relevant qualifications. By choosing a member of the BACP you can be assured that:
I work hard to achieve the balance of providing a professional and ethical service to you, whilst remaining personable, open and honest in order to promote a strong therapeutic relationship and connection.
It is my aim to engage with you as an individual and not label you with a diagnosis. I have experience in helping people to make sense of what is causing them stress/ discomfort, supporting them to access their own inner resources to elicit the positive change and self acceptance they deserve.
I have a wealth of experience working with clients who have brought a wide range of issues such as anxiety, stress, low mood, depression and low self esteem, as well as those dealing with difficult emotions (such as anger) which are affecting their relationships, and those experiencing relationship issues.
I have particular interest in supporting people who are dealing with trauma from past relationships / childhood. (including abuse) and inner child work. Drawing on my past career i am skilled in working with people who are experiencing life changing challenges. These challenges include divorce, grief, or life altering / life limiting diagnoses affecting either yourself or others close to you.
If for any reason I believe I am not the right counsellor for you I will offer you support to find an alternative counsellor or other form of support.
I am qualified to work with people from the age of 18 upwards and have enhanced DBS clearance.
