I am a qualified integrative therapist and a member of the BACP who is passionate and committed to supporting my clients. I have a genuine interest in people and offer a warm and empathic style of counselling.
Following an extensive professional career in both health and education, I started my journey as a counsellor as a way to enhance what I was able to offer people in these roles. As my passion and interest in talking therapies grew, I decided to concentrate solely on counselling and offer my services to the public.
What is an integrative therapist? I trained as an integrative therapist, which means I was taught a number of theories during my training and have continued to learn and integrate different theories into my work. In practice this means I am able to use different theoretical models to support you in our work together. I can draw upon these to tailor your therapy to suit you and your individual needs, as I am not tied to any one theoretical standpoint.
The main theories I use are; Person Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & Solution Focused Therapy. I am able to work with clients on a long-term or short-term basis.
if you are interested to know more please see the section on counselling jargon explained to understand the different styles of therapy that I use with my clients.
My practice is based in the centre of Stockport, where you will find a relaxing welcoming space. I offer face to face sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the daytime and some evenings. My office is within easy walk of the train station and bus routes, there is also on street parking available nearby.
I am also pleased to offer online sessions between Mondays and Thursdays if you are unable to attend my office or you would prefer virtual sessions.
